Some of our findings for

1. Security Update for Microsoft Office XP (KB944423) -

2. Security Update for Microsoft Works Suite 2005 (KB943973)

The SMS clients returns a Program exit Code of "0" for the above KB's even
if it fails on the client side during installation and hence my SMS reports
shows as "Program completed with Success" for Failed Systems

Reports are generated after creating the Package for the above exe
individually and Advertising it through SMS 2003 for a Specific Collection
Systems.
We generate the SMS Reports by Running SMS Reporting Reports --> Software
Distribution - Advertisement Status -->Status of a Specific Advertisement -->
Feeding the Advertisement ID and found that for all the failed system the
Last Status Message Name shows as "Program Completed with Success" whereas in
real it has to be "Program Failed"


For KB944423 - As per Microsoft Site it says the prerequisite for installing
this KB is Office XP SP3 and Windows Installer 3.1 however even after having
Office XP SP3 and Windows Installer 3.1in our System it says "Expected
Version of the Product was not found" when executed Manually.

Please Advice
