security update has slowed Outlook down my computer

I run Outlook 2003 SP2 as a home based email system. I am under XP PRO SP2.
After an automatic MS update recently my Outlook started to run VERY SLOWLY.
I cannot find out why and it is impossible to use. All my other programs run
normally. Can you assist me please?
