security update outlook 2003 stops email

the security update for oulook 2003 has been disabling my email for at least
a month now. every tuesday and friday, I have to remove the update in order
to send or receive email. I have MS xp media ctr service pk 2 with norton
security. is there a better solution?

Set Windows Update to hide that update and not install it again.

Uninstall the update. Connect to WIndows Update. Perform a Custom search.
When the list of updates appears, mark the ones you don't want and hide
them. There's a button there for it in the left-hand pane, I believe.

I think I'm having the same problem. Mine just started last night and I put
up a post on it earlier today. Does anyone who has experience with MS think
that they might work on fixing this problem?

To add, you will have to expand the item to see the description under
which is the checkbox that you have to select to hide that item. Dig.

when I click custom, I got a page that says 'software upgrade for your
windows components required' with a box to click 'download now'. should I
do the download? I am loathe to add more bugs into the mix.
