Colleagues.
I need your help. We've a project assistant who is responsible to
copy&paste some values to the excel sheet for customer. She is doing it
very well, but very often forget to check out project plan before closing.
Could somebody help me to find the option which will allow her to open
project plans in "read-only" mode?

TIA
Best regards,

You can create a new security group called "Project Read Only" and add it to
"My Organization". Give this group the global permission "Log on to Project
Server from Project Professional". Also give the category permission to
"Open Project" but NOT "Save Project to Project Server".

Finally, remove from all her security groups and only have her as part of
"Project Read Only" and "Team Members". Make sure she doesn't have global
permissions or categories assigned to her at the user level.

Thanks a lot for your help. I've another one question about R/O. May be you
can help me one more time.

Is it possible to allow project managers to view in r/o mode projects which
they are not own (e.g. all other projects in organization)

TIA

If you are using the out of the box security configuration then you should
be able to just add the "Open Project" permission on the Project Manager
group against My Organization category.
