I have two mdw's

I am the administrator of mdw1

I am the user of mdw2

can I access a database from mdw2 from an
database which falls under security mdw1 ?

should I use workspace ?

The workgroup files store nothing more than the various groups and
users. The actual permissions granted to those users and groups are
stored in the MDB files.

So if the database that you normally use when logged on with mdw2 also
grants permissions to your userID as determined by mdw1, then, yes --
you can use it.
On the other hand, if you log onto access using an id from MDW2, and
that userId has not been given permissions in the "mdw1 database",
then you will not be able to use it.

See the document on the website in my signature for more information.
