see who the owner of the task is

I have a project schedule that multiple PMs are updating. When the PM adds or
updates a task, in MS Project Pro 2003 he/she selects the tasks to publish,
then from the menu does Collaborate/Publish/RepublishAssignment and make sure
that Selected Items is selected and they check the box for Become the Manager
for These Assignments.

I want to look at the project schedule, either in MS Project Pro 2003 or in
PWA 2003 and see who the Manager is for that task. Can someone please help me
out.

The only place you can see this directly is in the View Resource Assignments
page in PWA. You cannot see this information in the actual Microsoft
Project plan. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale, this does help. Do you know off-hand what fieldname will show me
the name of the task owner in the View Resource Assignments?

Oops! I forgot to mention that your Project Server administrator should add
the Project Manager field to the Summary view (for View Resource
Assignments). You can then filter and sort on that field. Hope this helps.

Hi Dale,

Is there anyway you can see this in a view at the project level. My project
Senior Managers want to be able to click on a project and see who is managing
each task/ if the correct person is managing each task.

Thanks

No, this is not possible at the project level, either in Microsoft Project,
or by using a detailed Project view from the Project Center page in PWA.
Instead, you can do this by creating a custom version of the Summary
Assigment view in PWA. Here's how:

1. Copy the Summary view in the Assignments section and name it something
like "PM for Each Project Task"
2. Edit the new view by moving the Resource Name field to a position
immediately after the Task Name field
3. Add the Project Manager field to the view and move it immediately after
the Resource Name field
4. Leave all other fields in the custom view "as is"
5. Set the Group By value to Project
6. Click the Save Changes button

Navigate to the View Resource Assignments page, select the resources you
wish to see, and then click the Apply button. Click the Choose a View
selector and choose the new view you just created. I believe this will show
what your Sr. Mgrs. want to see in a form they wish to see it. If not,
tweak it as needed. Hope this helps.
