Seeking Cost Effective & Efficient Ways to Expand Capability

I have a client that's running XP, Outlook2003 that depends heavily (almost
exclusively) on e-mail. 10k names in Contacts and receives 200+ emails per
day on a single home office workstation. Periodically travels and also brings
in support help (with different PCs - configurations vary) that need to share
both contacts and emails...Because of such hi volume of both contacts &
emails, what suggestions could you offer that is not cost-prohibitive, yet
effective?

Oh yeah, if I'm way off in left field with my thinking on this -
constructive criticism is appreciated...I'm a bit aggravated with this client
(especially since I'm having a tough time getting the client to understand
just how critical regular backups are!). I turn to the group for ideas (and
inspiration if you've got it!)...

Lastly, I've already got them running GoToMyPC for remote access and
considering an Exchange server or ShareO from 4Team Groupware - and we've
tried to use Western Digital's My Passport with WD Sync (USB not FireWire)
and it is very slow -any feedback regarding these alternatives would be
helpful. The key is that the support resources to help my client will need to
have access to both their inbox and contacts...tnx...

Tnx 4 the reply -- I concur on the Groupware solution; yet no mention was
made re: WD Sync backup that was taken -- any comments?
