We have recently upgraded to MS Office 2003. We are using Symantec AntiVirus
Corporate Edition version 8 with definitions dated 02/04/04.
A couple of users have encountered the following:
When attempting to save a Word document (unsure if it was a brand new doc,
or changes to an older version), a Norton window pops up with a virus
warning that the document could not be saved because the *.tmp file is
infected with the Sefex trojan. We scanned ALL files on the local machines
but could find no further evidence of any virus. Last night, we scanned ALL
files across the entire network and still found nothing.
Could this be a false positive related to the XML nature of Office 2003
docs?
Or, if it is not a false positive, how do you get rid of a virus if your AV
software can not find it??
TIA
