Segregated check-in permissions

Hello.

We’d like to find a way to allow people to force-check-in projects which
they are not the owner of. However, currently the only way I know to do that
is to give them this permission globally. We’d like something that is more
along the lines of a Project Officer able to force-check-in only projects
that are in his area of responsibilities (for example, in a certain
category).

Is there a way to achieve this functionality?

No, manage check-ins is a global permission and therefore you cannot
segregate this out.

Create a new security group which has the global permission "Manage Check Ins"

Add your users to this group.

There is no need to assign the group to a category as it a global permission.
