Select All doesn't select graphics in text boxes

Background:
* Using Word 2003
* All graphics are linked to the source files, not embedded
* All graphics are in-line with text
* Some graphics are inside text boxes

I've found that "Select All" ignores the text boxes. So, when I press
Ctrl+A and then F9 to update references, any graphics I have in those text
boxes don't get updated.

Is there an easier workaround than going through the file page by page,
finding each text box, selecting the graphic in it, and updating it?

Hi KJKurth,

Ctrl-A the F9 doesn't update headers & footers either. You may be able to get what you're after via a simple Print Preview,
especially if you've got the 'update fields' option checked under Tools|Options|Print.

You should also consider having the 'update automatic links at open' option checked, under Tools|Options|General. This will reduce
the need to update the links at other times - unless the source files are being changes whilst the document is open.

As you guessed, I had the document open while I was updating the images and
wanted to see the updates.

The option 'update automatic links at open' under Tools|Options|General is
already checked. I'll try checking the 'update fields' and 'update links'
options under Tools|Options|Print. It sounds like Print Preview will then do
what I want.
