Select multiple cells that are not adjacent in a spreadsheet

Can someone tell me how I can select multiple cells at the same time in a spreadsheet that are not adjacent (e.g. B4, C2, A1) to have the sum display in the status bar? In Windows you hold down control when selecting each but I can't figure it out in Office Mac 2008.

Use the CMD-key when you select your cells.

Thanks very much. I thought that I tried that but apparently not...

I tried that solution, and it didn't work for me. Did it work for you?

I tried using the cmd key to add to selection on 08, and it doesn't work for me. Any suggestions?[/QUOTE]

The message you replied to is so old it's no longer on the newsserver.
What solution are you referring to, and for what problem?
