Select row in formula in excel 2007

I have a formula that creates a clickable hyperlink to a list on another
sheet, when clicked you are taken to the matched cell however i would like
the formula to select the whole row as opposed to just the cell. this is my
formula
=HYPERLINK("#'validationlists'!a" & MATCH(C17,validationlists!A1:A500,0),
C17)

any help much appreciated

When you want to select a row, you can use:

Edit|Goto
and type in something like:
187:187

So you could change your formula:

=HYPERLINK("#'validationlists'!"
&MATCH(C17,ValidationLists!A1:A500,0)
&":"
&MATCH(C17,ValidationLists!A1:A500,0),C17)
