Select text in ON

I have a simple question, but is one which I have not been able to find the
answer to anywhere. How do I select text in a ON print. In other words, if
I print a PDF document into ON; how can I then select the text from this
inserted (printed) document? Any help would be appreciated.

When you print to OneNote, you get an image. You can't directly select the
text from that image. However, you can tell OneNote to copy the text from
the image and them paste that text where you need it. You do this by
selecting the image and then selecting "Copy text" from the right click
menu. (OneNote 2007 only). Unfortunately, this works on an all or nothing
basis - all the text in any given graphic or none of it.

Doesn't it seem strange that ON 2007 can differentiate text from an
image for a search , but won't let us select manually the same text?

Not really.
The OCR engine recognizes the text and builds words. And these are
indexed.

ON does not have the features to mark/highlights parts of an image.
And therefore there's no way to copy text.

In so far ON is different and far less powerful than Adobe Acrobat, f.e.
where text of scanned in stuff can be selected.
