Select top 10 records

I hope this is the correct newsgroup for this question, my appologies if it
isn't.

We are running a competition in which entrants come from various schools.

What I need to do is create a report which lists the top 10 entries from
each school and then gives a total of the 10 so we can determine which is
the top school.

I have made a query that lists all the entries by school but I can't figure
out how to restrict it to the top 10.

I can do the sum for the total within the report, I just need to find a way
to limit the records.

I hope all this makes sense.
