Selecting a textline

Hello,

After selecting a line and make it, for instance, bold, the whole text
changes rather than the selected line
After using 'undo' the result is like it was meant to be. So only the
selected line is bold.
Anyone with a explanation and knows how to solve this.

You need to go to Format -> Style, select the style applying to the
affected area (probably Normal), Modify it and uncheck the
"Automatically update" box.

That should do it, though I am at a PC, not a Mac, at the moment and
may have remembered the progression slightly incorrectly.

You don't know how pleased I am. It was becoming very annoying and a reason
to stop using Word.
