i have to select all minus signs in document and then to change their format
to bold text.
Which is the most elegant way to do that?

If you want to do this manually:

Hit "Ctrl" + H which will bring up the find/replace dialogue.

Enter your minus sign in the find what box

In the replace with box enter a minus sign

Click on the More Button

Click on the Format Botton and select Font

In the font dialogue box select Bold and close the box

Click on Replace All

IF YOU WANT TO AUTOMATE:

you can simply record these steps as a macro. you can find several
posts that explain how to record macros
