selecting & copying mulitple document files in windows explorer

I wanted to select multiple word docs, copy them and paste them to a
different location.

I was in the "my computer" dialog box, used the control key to select the
documents, right mouse clicked with the intention to copy them (or send them
to a floppy) and I ended up with multiple copies of the original documents in
the original folder. I selected the documents again and received more
mulitple copies.

I'm using Windows 2000 Professional.

I'd like to know what to do so this doesn't happen again. Thank you.

Don't move the mouse when you click on the files.
What you did was move the cursor while the mouse button was held down.
