Selecting Custom Styles

Dave

I created a Custom line pattern and defined a Custom
style in a new stencil. I then created a new master
object (an arc) in the stencil and using the Custom style
I defined. So far, so good. I can place and work with
the objects dragged and dropped on the drawing from the
stencil. Still so far, so good. When I click on an
empty area of the drawing the closest object using the
custom style is selected. Click again, and it is no
longer selected. Click and try and select other objects,
and the custom object is selected again. The more custom
objects placed in the drawing, the harder it is to select
other object, especially multiple object. Hopefully,
somebody else has run into this problem, and the fix is
easy//Dave//

You may have a bounding box problem with your shape. It's pretty easy to
create a shape that has a much larger bounding (or alignment) box than the
actual shape.

If you have the select tool (arrow) selected, drag one on your shapes onto
the empty page. Are the green handles tightly bound to the shape or are
they bounding a much bigger area? If the answer is a much bigger area,
then that's the problem you've got.

You can fix this by opening the original master and using the shape sheet
to fix the size.

If this is not the problem, try selecting the shape with the TEXT BOX tool
(right under the text tool in the toolbar). If that box is huge, then use
that tool to make it smaller.

If none of this helps, I'm stumped.
