Selecting Long Column

I am working with a fairly large spreadsheet (116.586 cells) and have
a (hopefully) simple problem. In column B there is a list of non-
contiguous labels I need to align with entries in column C (they are
off by two rows). The problem is that the labels in column B start at
row 2 and go through row 6847. I don't want to go through the
laborious task of selecting B2 then holding my mouse as it scrolls to
B6847 just so I can move the entire set down two rows.

Is there a shortcut where I can select the entire set of labels
between B2 and B6847?

Try shift Down arrow.

I think Bob G meant Shift+*Command*+DownArrow once you're on the first cell
to be selected.

Alternatively, select the first cell then scroll [using the scroll bar - no
dragging] then hold Shift while you click the last cell to be selected.

Here's one more before I pack up to go home :)

Click in the Name Box [left end of the Formula Bar] & type B2:B6847 then
press return.

Try shift Down arrow.

Tried your suggested shortcut, but it only took me to the last cell in
the column (a handy shortcut that I need as well.) So I tried command
+shift+down arrow, which worked like charm.

Thanks for putting me on the trail of a solution.
