Do you want to specifically select all rectangles, ie: all shapes with four,
perpendicular sides, or do you mean something different.
Check out "Select by type" under the Edit menu. There are various options
there. Layer is an interesting one, whereby you can assign certain types of
shapes to specific layers or categories.
Short of that, you can always write (or get an intern to write) some VBA
code that will figure out the shapes you want to select and select them for
you.
