Selecting rows

Well, I must have done something while trying to make my row heights smaller (certainly a well-documented challenge in MS Project) and now the first column I have is the ID number but there is nothing to the left of it. Normally, I wouldn't mind this much but now I can't select a row because there are no row headers like there are column headers (so you can choose a column), and this makes things like moving, copying, or cutting tasks somewhat of a painful problem. I have tried to insert another column, but I cant find anywhere in that list (which contains about 50 items with sometims somewhat nebulous titles) something that will allow me to bring back the row headers - any advice to reolve this problem would be most appreciated - thanks!

Interesting .... it was already checked and when I unchecked it nothing seemed to change, then I tried adding fields and deleting fields and I have the ID as the first field now and rechecked the box and now I have my row control again - weird how that wasnt working before with that box checked ... thanks very much! :)
