Selecting Tasks returns to Welcome Page ??

I'm connected to a Project Server 2003 with Project Mgr rights.

I've created couple test projects with assigned tasks with
MS Project 2003 SP1 on the server.

After log in I can see that I have 6 new assigned tasks
in the welcome page.

Selecting the 6 new tasks opens grid control and start loading data
but after a second my IE returns to Wecome page.

Any ideas? I've tried re-installing ActiveX controls as per
instructions on http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=837655
without luck. Updating Project with SP 1 did not help neither.

Pirkka:

Make sure that you have the latest version of MDAC on your machine
Make sure that you do not have the google toolbar or other browser add-ins
installed
Check your Browser security settings

I have a Windows XP running with SP2 and SQL Server 2005.

I tried this on a VirtualPC image with clean XP SP2 and
another box with Windows XP SP2 + SQL Server 2000.

None of them work.

Could it be a restriction with firewall as the server is
running on another continent than the client?
Other pages do work fine: Home, Resources, Status Reports,
Updates, Risks, Issues, Documents.
Only Tasks and Projects fail.

Well the separate continent aspect of this is certainly a fact that you
might have mentioned up front. Now you need to fully describe your setup and
the type of connectivity you have. Your firewall settings are a factor as
well as the network connectivity, particularly when calling large amounts of
data.

Hi guys, I experience the same issue. This only happens over VPN. Our VPN
client is Cisco VPN Client 4.0.5 (D). Grids work as advertised when in the
office, but over VPN, we see the same issue as you. Interestingly enough,
I'm told they work over dial-up.

We're running MDAC 2.8. I am going to look into the MSXML.DLL component, as
mentioned in another post regarding this issue.

Anyything else I should look at?

You're best served by describing your problem and the behavior you see. You
may have 'similar' symptoms, but don't draw the conclusion that you have the
'same' problem. The previous poster never mentioned a VPN. Start your own
thread.

Every time we see this, the client has pop-up blockers running tha
block the site.
