Selecting text in order to set heading only selects part of text in document

I have a large word document that was generated from an export of an Access
Report.

The purpose of exporting the access report to word (RTF then read into word)
is to be able to generate a table of contents. I set special formatting for
the lines that I will change to heading 1, heading 2, heading 3, etc.

In the word document, when I show Styles and Formatting and click on the
first format (that I will change to heading 1) and say select all, I get
only the first 65 instances of this line. There are about 350 of these items
formatted this way.

In the "formatting of selected text" area for the items that are not
selected the formatting says Normal, but in the toolbar the correct format
"Verdana" shows up.

For some reason when I choose select all it stops about 1/4 of the way
through the document.

Has anyone seen this issue an resolved it.

Verdana is not a style but rather a font. Normal is a style (which can be in
Verdana font).

Which version of Word? I'm assuming Word 2002 or 2003 but am not sure of
this.

If the paragraphs you want to change have already been formatted with the
heading styles, you can change the formatting of the style to have the
changes take place throughout your document.

You can use the Replace feature to replace styles.

If your material is already in the proper styles (even if they are not
formatted the way you want) you can use them to generate a Table of
Contents.

I'm not sure what it is you are trying to accomplish.

I am trying to update all
Verdana 14 point text in the document to a particular style. The text in
Verdana 14 point font is in different styles right now.

You can use Find and Replace to do this:

1. Click More if necessary to expand the dialog.

2. With the insertion point in the "Find what" box, click Format, choose
Font, and select 14-pt Verdana.

3. With the insertion point in the "Replace with" box, click Formt, choose
Style, and select your desired style.

4. Leaving both boxes empty except for the formatting instructions, Replace
All.
