Selecting text (in Word 2007)

When I click where I want to start the selection, hold down the left
mouse-button and drag the pointer over the text I want to select, I
can't see the difference between the selected text and the text in the
rest of the document.

How can I get the selected block to be highlighted in a different
color than the unselected text?
