Self Assignments not transferring to new owner

I am working in Project Server 2003 and we have the self assignment feature
enabled for a few people on a handful of projects.

1. I created new projects in Project Pro under my Admin ID (Lisa).
2. I have manually changed the Owner field in PWA to the ID of the new owner
(RA Owner).
3. I logged in as RA Owner and manually took ownership of the projects using
Collaborate-Publish-Republish Assignments and selected the checkbox for
becoming the manager of the assignments.
4. There are still self assignment tasks that are showing up in Lisa's
Updates. I performed step 3 above a couple times and same thing.

Any help or recommendations will be appreciated.

Lisa --

This is a bug in Project Server 2003. Even though you correctly changed the
Owner and Manager of the project, self-assignments and task delegations
still go to the former manager. I know of no way around this problem.
