Self Signed SSL Security Certificate Error

Jerry

I have a laptop with Vista Beta2 and Office 2007 Beta 2 setup and my group
uses an exchange 2003 server with a Self Signed SSL Cert and when I try to do
RPC over HTTP I get an error message that states:

There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The
Security certificate is not from a trusted certifying authority.

Screen Snip of the error is at:

Does anyone know a work around until we can get an SSL from a trusted
authority?

Hi Jerry,

I had the exact same problem. I fixed this by exporting the installed
self signed SSL certificate of our company in (for example) a .CER file
on my harddisk (in IE7, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Content ->
Certificates, then find your company's certificate in one of the tabs,
and choose Export; if it's not there, install it first). Then I
imported the .CER file in the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities"
store.

My Outlook 2007 Beta 2 is configured to connect to our Exchange 2003
Server exactly as Outlook 2003 would be.

Cheers.

Dennis
