I created (some time ago) a digital certificate using
selfcert.exe for signing VBA projects for internal use.
I saved the .cer file and folder tree at:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application
Data\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\My
Which contains:
Certificate\
CRLs\
CTLs\
Keys\
Which seems to store the certificate and a "private key".
I saved this thinking that if I ever needed to, I could
restore the original certificate...
Well, I reformatted my system and copied the folder tree
back to its original location, but VBA will not allow me
to sign VBA projects using this certificate, even though
it lists it as one of the available certificates.
Question: Did I miss something? Is there anything I can
do to "recover" from this situation. This digital
certificate (although self signed) has been used
extensively for Office VBA projects, and I would like to
save it if possible. Any help would be appreciated.
