Last week I began receiving the following error message when I click the Send
and Recieve button in Outlook 2003 "The application or DLL
C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetcomm.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check
this against your installation diskette." If I then select the dropdown menu
and choose Send and Recieve, the server times out waiting for a response. I
am unable to send or recieve email.
Nothing was installed or changed in the weeks before this happened. I am
running XP. My ISP says this is a software problem on my end.
I used System Restore to go back a few days before the problem began. When
that didn't resolve it I used Detect & Repair. I have updated through
Microsoft Automatic Updates and then uninstalled those same updates. I
removed the initial System Restore and chose the day prior to the problem
where a "Software Distribution 3.0" had taken place. I restored from this
point and opened Outlook. It worked ONE TIME. Unfortunately the automatic
update ran simultaneously and I then got the same error. I disabled
Automatic Updates, but that reset itself when I restored the system again.
How do I resolve this?
Thanks
