Send As

I have a user who runs Outlook 2007. She has rights to another special
mailbox but she needs to be able to Send As the user of this mailbox.
The recipient of any message she sends needs to see that it is from the user
of this mailbox.
How do you set this up?

She needs to be granted Send As permission on the mailbox account in
Active Directory (Exchange tools will need to be installed if running the
Admin tools locally) or perform the action on the Exchange server itself.

Since I don't have the rights to do that, I called the one who does and had
him add this user and give her Send As rights.

So now the user has just tested it by sending something to me, and it says
it's from the "user in behalf of the special mailbox name". I didn't want
that. I just wanted it to say it's from the special mailbox name.

What am I missing here? She has Editor rights to the mailbox as well as
the Inbox of this special mailbox.

You need to change it on the server, in ADUC. Open the special mailbox's
account and on the security tab, add the user account and select send as in
the lower section.

does she also have delegate rights? If so, that will usually take
precedence over Send as. Otherwise, its possible the admin didn't do it
right.
