Send button grayed out.

Hello,

I support a brand new MacBook Pro 15" unibody. It came with Snow
Leopard. We used Migration Assistant to pull over all of the user's
files and applications. After that, the system was having alot of
buggy issues so we reinstalled the OS. That cleared up all of the
issues except Entourage 2008 issues. Entourage connects fine and the
user receives new emails and for a while can send and reply to emails.
But after a little while (we can't find a pattern) her Send button
grays out and she can't send anything. She can hit reply but she can't
send the reply. She still receives new messages. She is using Snow
Leapord 10.6.2, Exchange Server 2003 (not sure what update), Microsoft
Office 2008 12.2.3. Steps we have tried:

Reinstall OS
Threw away all Microsoft Preferences
Ran Repair Permissions
Ran Onyx
Reinstall Office 2008
New User Identity
New user account in the OS

None of these things have worked. Thanks for any help!

New User Identity
New user account in the OS

If it fails in a new User with a new Identity this points to the base files.
Either the OS or Office files have problems, but this doesn't seem to jive
with your situation and the fixes you have tried.

Before we start doing anything drastic, lets examine your situation.

1) Everything seems to work except Entourage
2) The problem in Entourage is only the Send button graying out.

Option 1)
Open Schedules, uncheck, Send & Receive All.
Now try clicking on Send. Does it work now?

If yes, then open Schedules and enable Send & Receive All

Verify that the email accounts are selected in the schedule.

Option 2)
Quit Entourage
Move the Microsoft User Data folder to the desktop.
Open Entourage and let it create a new Microsoft User Data folder.
Drag back the Main Identity folder to the Office 2008 Identities folder in
the new Microsoft User Data folder in Documents.
Open Entourage and test.

Let me know what you find.

BTW...

Did you take care of the older Microsoft fonts after making the move to Snow
Leopard?

Fonts to delete after installing Snow Leopard (includes help deleting font
caches)

Do you get all green check marks when validating fonts?
