Send deleted email to trash instead of the line through it.

How do I delete the email from my outlook inbox. Currently when I hit
delete, it puts a line through it instead of sending it to the trash. Every
email I have deleted since getting my new computer has a line throug it and
it is very frustrating.

All help is appreciated.

It sounds like you are using an IMAP account. When you delete a message in
IMAP, you just get the line through it and it is not really deleted yet. To
purge items you have selected for deletion, connect to the IMAP account, then
select Edit | Purge Deleted Messages.
