SEND ERROR with latest 2008 update

Since the update yesterday, I cannot send mail through my relay account.
Although my send and receive all schedule has me connect to the account to
receive first, the error keeps popping up saying " Connect to your mailbox
before sending mail via this relay"

Something is wrong here. I just connected and it won't let me send. This
update is bad news.
