Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

File: Send to Mail Recipient (as Attachment)is greyed out and unavailable. I use Apple Mail as my default email, and it worked perfectly in Word 2004, but now nothing seems to work to restore it.

It works fine here, with Apple Mail 2.1.2 (Word 2008 12.0 under OS
10.4.11 on PPC) Have you tried basic troubleshooting--shutting down the
computer for a few minutes? Repair permissions? What else have you tried?

I get a grayed out Send as Attachment when I set Thunderbird as the
default, which Word apparently refuses to work with.

I do notice that Word only picks up the default mail program at
launch--if you change the default, you need to relaunch Word to force it
to recognize the new program.

Sorry, my reply didn't work. I am using Mail 3.2 and Leopard (1.5.2). Send as attachment didn't work yesterday, but it works today. Go figure....
