send fillin forms via email, why loose text dropdown boxes?

I have fillin forms that have drop down boxes. The forms are completed and
then emailed to me by clicking on file, send, mail receipient. When I
receive the file, the text from the drop down boxes are deleted. I have
searched options and formatting but can not find a reason why? HELP me
please I have SEVERAL forms with alot of drop down boxes.
