send is stalling

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

Since upgrading to 2008, my entourage is stalling on the send a few times per day. In order to get the mail to go, I have to shut down the program, then when I restart it, it sends right away. Any ideas?

Not sure why you're experiencing the stalling, but you might try
selecting Entourage menu --> Work Offline and then Online to see if this
is quicker than than restarting the application.
