I clicked send later on a message I had in the drafts.... I had thought I
would get a menu for Œwhen to send¹ (like outlook silly me)... Instead it
dropped itself in the outbox.... Ok... I searched and searched and tried to
find a way to send it next day .... Gave up.. Left in outbox (fine it will
go out a day early... Its a schedule post to a yahoo group)... So this
morning I checked its neither in the outbox nor the sent items nor the
drafts... Nor the posted to the group. I searched all of
entourage...nada... I spotlighted my whole mac nope -
Any idea where I can retrieve this message? I need it back and
specifically I need it sent.

(send later = lose forever?)

If the message was not open in Drafts, you didn¹t change anything. When you
ran Spotlight did you use the Entourage Spotlight search in the top right
corner? Did you check the trash?

Entourage does not have an Outlook-type Send Later. There are two scripts
that will give you this option. I posted the links yesterday.

Postpone,Delayed Send | Delayed Send

You¹ll find links for download here:

I checked all my drafts folders (4)... And used both system spotlight, and
entourage spotlight... Any other ideas?.... Thanks for the script -- I don't
need to do this again and just need to get my original message back.

need to do this again and just need to get my original message back.

When you search using Entourage's Spotlight what search terms are you using?
If you try two different criteria sometimes this will find what you are
looking for.

I searched for the subject of the email (since i have several with the
same subject i knew i had this correct)...
since i dont remember the contect of the message (which is why i want it
back :)...) i cant search that... i could try the receiving email - but
since its a yahoo group - i would just get thousands of hits for that..

someone else suggested it was probably sent -- nope i am moderator of
the yahoo group it was supposed to be sent to ... and it did not arrive
there :D (i checked that first)..

any other ideas?

I totally understand. I try to find a thread with a solution that didn't get
documented and the terms I expect to show results do not.
any other ideas?

Try a custom search using Date created and Date Modified.

Howto:

Click on Mail Views in the folder column.
Select New
Item Contains select Date created and/or Date Modified

If this doesn't find it, try some of the other criteria in the Custom view
search.

Seasonal Greetings!
