send queue clogged

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Email Client: imap

I can't use Entourage because (apparently) there are 3 messages that won't send.. the computer sticks in "messages to be sent" mode endlessly.. is there a way to purge the send queue?

open the outbox (there may be ore than one, depending on how your
accounts are configured - but is there are unsent messages in there, the
folder names will be in bold)

select the oldest messages and press the delete (backspace) key.
