This just started happening today. I have maybe 8 POP3 accounts and 1 IMAP
account. The ghost account has the user name "idiot," the password "idiot" and
was trying to download from a nonexistent mailbox on my own (non-Exchange) POP3
mailserver.
It is possible that at sometime in the distant past I created and deleted a test
account of that name. Where does Outlook 2003 store account information?
My temporary workaround was to create on the server a mailbox matching the ghost
account. Having done this, Send/Receive-all no longer hangs on the ghost
account. So no immediate pain, but I do want to figure out where this is coming
from.
Would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
TIA
