Send/Receive appears to occur too often

I have my Outlook 2007 setup to automatically initate a send/receive every 30
minutes. However, it appears as if it's occurring every minute. At least
that's what appears to be occurring as I see a send/receive complete message
at the bottom of my Outlook 2007 window every minute or so. Has anyone seen
this and know how to correct this? I have all the latest updates and/or
patches.

If you're talking about the systray, that notification icon broke months
ago. Ignore it. We've told them about it but Microsoft appears to be unable
to fix it.

Thanks for your reply. However, it's not the icon in the systray. It's
actually on the status bar in my Outlook window where I see first the
verbiage "preparing to send/receive", then I'll see the verbiage
"send/receive complete".

That's broken too after a recent Office patch - probably in October or so.
Many people reported the issue and we brought it up to Microsoft. No fix
available yet.

Personally I would try unticking both the option to send/receive on starting
& auto send receive every xx mins.
Then shutdown Outlook, reboot your PC, start Outlook and reset the options -
you never know it might work - I currently have no probs with send/receive
every 10 mins (OL2007)

There's no way to "untick the option to send/receive on starting" as it
doesn't exist.

Don't choose a value less than about 10 minutes.
