send & receive doesn't 'see' Internet Connect settings

Entourage 2004 worked fine - when I clicked on 'send & receive' it
connected to my ISP and did the stuff. I sent a fax using print function
yesterday, and now when using Entourage send & receive I get an error
message headed "Internet Connect" which reads "Ther selected
communication device does not exist. Please verify your settings and try
again".

The thing is internet connect works fine, I can connect to ISP. Safari opens
the connection automatically. IE sees the connection. iMail recognises and
open connection, but Entourage is 'blind' to it, and can neither see an open
internet connection nor open a connection as it used to do. Help please!!

Go into your Network Preference Pane and make sure that your preferred
Internet device (ie: Ethernet) is listed above the modem.
