Send/Receive Error Message

I recently had to reinstall Outlook 03 on my Win XP computer. I put in the
correct POP3/SMTP server info but I keep getting an error message when I try
to download mail that it cannot find the email server. I checked the
Knowledge Base for the error code and followed some of the suggestions but
everything seems to check out ok. Interestingly, I am able to receive mail
in Outlook Express using the same POP3/SMTP server information. Any ideas??

what suggestions did you follow? we need to ensure all bases are covered.

I figured out the problem. In troubleshooting the problem awhile back I had
spoken to my cable provider to check on the server settings. I had the POP
server information incorrect. I made the correction on the screen but didn't
realize that it didn't delete the wrong entry automatically. When I went
back over the steps listed in the Microsoft article, I found there were two
profiles - the bad one was listed as default and therefore was causing the
error. Once I deleted it, I could send and receive mail.
