My Outlook 2003 is configured to download e-mail from my webmail account and
has worked well in the past.
Now, Send/Receive gets to about 50% and goes no further. The PC is now
totally "frozen": Quick Launch, Start Menu and Desktop icons do not work -
all I get is the hourglass for a few minutes and then nothing. Even
Ctrl+Alt+Del fails to bring up the Task Manager, and the only solution is to
push the reset button - Start>Shut Down doesn't work either. This happens on
both my Desktop and Laptop PCs.
This even happens when my webmail inbox has been emptied and I try to send
outgoing mail from Outlook: the progress dialogue states Sending has
completed, yet the items remain in Outlook Outbox and cannot be opened - I
get the message that sending is in progress which it patently isn't!
My ISP states no settings have changed. OEM have no suggestions aside from
un-installing and re-installing. This I've tried to no avail. All
account/server settings are correct.
Any help or suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.
