Send/Receive quits after a few messages are received

One of my users has a problem with outlook. When he goes to receive messages
in the morning it will say that he has 40 messages(sometimes more) and it
will receive a fraction of that and quit. If he tries to hit receive again,
it will say the 40 messages again and receive a duplicate e-mail of the ones
he's already received. I've tried finding a solution but have been otherwise
unsuccessful. The only thing that I can tell is that there are spam messages
that lock up the receive because if I go on to the web-mail portal in order
to check his messages and delete out obvious spam, he receives it in fine.
If anyone has any idea whats causing the problem and how to fix it, please
let me know.

Sometimes an email on the server is malformed; usually because the
"spamware" used by the spammer to craft is message is broken. This malformed
email can cause problems for some mail client. Often the only way to fix
this problem is to identify the malformed email on the server, and delete it
there.

Thank you Norman. I told him previously that it was one of the spam messages
that was causing the hiccup. I'm hoping to get it to permanently block
e-mail messages like that so that it won't happen again. Hard to keep up
with all of the spam attacks. Thanks again!
