Send/Receive

When I press the send/receive button or let it do it automatically (it's set
to send/receive every ten mins), it says send/receive complete but doesn't
send my emails. I have to close Outlook and reopen for it to send.

Also, the note at the bottom of the screen is that it is sending all the
time. So, for example, there will be no items in my outbox but it will say
"sending 1 of 2". When the computer is on standby, it also tells me there
are 5 unread messages but when I open outlook there aren't any new messages.

Can anyone help?

when it does send the emails, it also says it is sending more than are there
to send.

They could be read receipts
Often having anti virus intergrated with outlook causes problems
It helps to include your version of outlook & the type of account in any Q's

Outlook 2003. It usually asks me if I am ok with sending read receipts and
there weren't any requests with these emails.
