Send To email recipient doc as attachment does not work

I upgraded from MS Office 2002 to 2003 Standard (word, excel, and powerpoint
but not outlook) since we use Lotus Notes...I have lost the ability to email
any document by File>Send To> Mail Recipient (for review) - this command is
grey-ed out...

Please help!

I finally got around this by doing a detect and repair on the install,
installed Outlook (which we don't use at work) and then re-directed my email
to Lotus Notes via IE. Problem solved. However, your guidance helped in
closing the loop and updating the tool bar with the mail attachment icons.
