Send to Mail Recipient generates error message

When I try to use the send to mail function (right click
on mouse) I get a message that either oulook is not the
default mail client, or the client cannot fulfil the
messaging request. System Win XP and Office XP, new
machine, software pre-installed by Dell. On my other
system this function works fine (Win XP and Office 2000).
Any ideas?
