On my TabletPC the "Send to OneNote" printer is missing.

What might be wrong?

Don't kill me...You probably have to remove and reinstall OneNote 2007.
Once it is removed, make sure that there are no OneNote 2003 PowerToys
on your tablet (especially the one for IE and the Send to OneNote 2003
printer). After that, reboot and reinstall.
I know that the printer isn't installed when the Send to OneNote 2003
powertoy is on the machine (and there was no reboot after removing it
and before installing 2007).

You probably have to remove and reinstall OneNote 2007.

Will do so - not having anything else to do [grrrrhh] - anyhow. The
installation on my tablet still is kaputt (error-msg "The Microsoft
Windows Desktop Search component has not been installed properly", pls
see my thread "ON 2007 - Windows DesktopSearch" started July 4).

How and where might detect if this PowerToy might be installed?
Nothing appears in so far in the "Add and remove software"-applet.
And I cannot remember having installed any PowerToy for ON.
After that, reboot and reinstall. I know that the printer isn't
installed when the Send to OneNote
2003 powertoy is on the machine (and there was no reboot after

So the main question in so far: How could I remove something of which
I do not know that and where it exists?
Would it make sense to look for that PowerToy and to install und
uninstall it in order to remove the remainders?

Thanks again

I have seen this message before. It came up when I had WDS 2.6.5
installed and after I removed it. I think the only thing that ever got
rid of it was installing WDS 3. Maybe you need to wait for the next WDS
beta (I read your other messages on this topic)?

Having this PowerToy installed is just the most common reason why the ON
2007 "Send to OneNote" printer doesn't get installed. If you don't have
it, then something else went wrong during the setup and another shot at
it might work.

That's what I have done moer than once.
It simply wont work.
And what I cannot understand is that all is fine on my dektop PC.
And this like that can really drive me mad .:-( :-(

If you don't have it,

If it was istalled, would it show in the software list?
Could I find it in the Registry?

You mean a new instal, do you?

Thanks for sharing my troubles

On the "improper installation" of WDS 2 issue-- I think WDS 2 uses the
Windows Installer. I'm not sure, but if so, maybe you need to try to
Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility. I don't have the url, but it would be
easy to find.

Hello Stephen,
If the uninstallation of version 2 was incomplete, it might
interfere with the installation of version 3.

Does one have to uninstall v. 2 prior to installing WDS 3?
Would I have to remove it from the list of "Windows components"
(Control Panel | Add or remove software" ???

Still not knowing what to do [siiiiigh]

I don't recall whether the user had to first uninstall WDS 2 or WDS 3
automatically does it. But if you had WDS 2 installed, it needed to get
uninstalled before installing 3.

OK. So I will install ON, WFS 3 and the "Windows component" Indexing.

Let's hope and pray ...
