send to onenote 2003 from ie7

The following is a question I submitted on 2006/10/21 in the
"microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general" newsgroup and have not yet
received any replies. So I thouhgt I would submit it to this newgroup

I upgraded to IE7 and can no longer send to onenote 2003 from the browser.
The IE7 "Tools" drop down menue does have a "send to onenote settings" entry
which when selected does display a dialogue box titled "Send to OneNote
Settings" which allows one to indicate "Target Section for Clippings" and
"Switch to OneNote?". I indicate what I want via this dialogue box and click
on OK and it closes and nothing happens. When one uses the "Manage Adins"
functionality in IE7 there are the following two adins enabled (1) Send to
Onenote and (2) Send to onenote settings. So my question is has anyone else
been able to send to OneNote 2003 (11.65554.8107) SP2 from IE7? and If yes
what do I need to change to get it to work?

Wouldn't you just use the "print " function for it, using the " Send to One
Note" printer?

The Send to OneNote from IE for OneNote 2003 was a powertoy and not
supported. It was tested on IE 6 and the compatibility with IE 7 hasn't
been tested. It also isn't supported any longer and instead you should use
OneNote 2007 which has a new Send to OneNote addin for IE.

I have IE7 and the Power Toy to send to OneNote 2003 installed. As you say,
the setting are under Tools. To the right of Tools, I have a double arrow
pointer. Clicking on the double pointer, provides additional selections
including Send to OneNote. The Send to OneNote 2003 works , for me, in IE7
as well as it did in IE6 {or perhaps I should say as poorly}. As before,
the information from the web page is transferred to OneNote 2003 but the
format is not preserved.

There are issues where the HTML formatting between OneNote and IE isn't
perfect. OneNote will do its best to render the page but there will be
fidelity issues between the two apps.

It is a bit better in OneNote 2007 if you use the Send to OneNte print
driver.
