frustrated with Outlook 2003

Here is the problem...
I have several email accounts...
One of them, of course, is set as the default account.
When I send a new message, it is sent from the default account.

But! When I 'reply' or 'forward' anything, it is automatically being sent
from a different (wrong) email account.

Shouldn't those also be sent from the default account?

I can't fix!
Can anyone help!

Outlook, by default, will send reply and forward messages by the same account that the incoming messages arrived on.

However if you tell me what version of outlook your using I can help. When
you want to forward or reply to a message you can pick what account you want
to use to send or forward. In the email there will be a little place to click
that says email sent with XXX account , if you click it you can tell it to
send or forward with one of your other accounts. Look for the place where it
says sent with (the account name )

yes!
but these messages are coming in on my main account!

replies an forwards are still going from a different account!
(as a matter of fact.. it recently changed to another!)

I realize I can simply correct the issue on every email by clicking correct
account...
it's just annoying!

any other advice?

yes, that is how I am correcting the problem on every email I reply to...

(outlook 2003)

but how do I default to the same account all he time?

I have already set up my main account as the default...

is there a separate setting for replies and forwards, as opposed to new sends?

Do yuou have the lastest updates installed? Outlook will reply using the
account that collected the mail - if you have a catchall account, it will be
the one that downloads it.

yes, all latest updates installed.

found the fix, if anyone else has this problem.

Tools
Options
Mail Setup
Send/Receive
Edit (all accounts)
on each account, click OFF 'receive mail items' except main account

so, yes, it was random accounts that were receiving and downloading the
messages... so Outlook would use the account that received for any reply or
forward.

Now it always sends, replies, forwards from the same account, unless I tell
it otherwise.

Don't know why I didn't find that long click through sooner.

Tx anyhow all... you at least pointed me in the right direction for correct
settings/functions.
