Sending a blast email invite

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC
Email Client: pop

I want to send a save-the-date email to family. My emails are in an excel spreadsheet. The list is getting large. Anyway to automate the movement of emails to the to: box?

How do I prevent /reduce the likelhood of the emails ending in spam filters?
